Intimacies in Pursuit

Finding an attraction spark
That draws me near to you,
I speak of feelings I suppress
And find you feel them too.

Looking into your eyes,
I see another's soul.
I feel the intimacy within
From the "open" dyad role.

We talk of our parenting,
And of dad and mom.
We find the poet a common bond,
And write to sing our song.

We have to find a conflict,
Resolve it with "win-win"/
We dissolve our differences,
And let the lovelight in.

Connection with a glowing spirit,
That burns brightly in the night.
I go for love relationships
And bring back a torch of light.

I feel the touch of love
That comes with fond embrace.
A oneness that builds a bond
Of the human race.

Some are unhappy -
Depressed, they know not why.
We connect with kindred souls
And find a love for I.

Carefully intellectualizing,
It was hard to risk our reason;
We found a spark within our heart
And let love in for a season.

In the gifts we gave, I found
A stranger now a friend.
Standing, mirrored in their eyes,
I reflected there within.

But it's easier to be intimate
When secure, safe and sound.
The task is to take your love
From this harbor - "outward bound".

So I return to you, my life,
Resolved to show my love.
To take the intimacy I've found
To a kinder, gentler world.
